INNOVATION AND INSURANCE

04/19/2023

#Innovation is a topic that has gained increasing prominence on social media timelines, especially professional ones. Everyone has an innovative vision, an innovative method, an innovative system, an innovative office. Most of the time, it is associated with adjectives such as “technological”, “disruptive”, promising excellence and efficiency in the blink of an eye, a totally new, almost futuristic experience.
But what does it really mean to innovate? Is innovation just about creating something new, unprecedented? Is it to intensify the use of #technologies ?
The truth is that innovation cannot be reduced to originality, nor to pure technological advancement. After all, in 2023, it is possible to adapt the wheel, improve its performance, but it is no longer possible to invent it.
Innovating, in the #insurance market and also in #law , is (should be) constantly challenging what is considered normal or acceptable, to seek different ways of approaching problems and opportunities. It's about leaving your comfort zone, questioning what you've set and thinking outside the box.
We at LGCC always come up with this key when we talk to insurers: is it no longer possible to present the insurance proposal and the general conditions in a single document? Isn't it possible to apply #LegalDesign techniques, reduce and make the content of the policy clearer to laypeople? Can't risk questionnaires be reviewed in light of repeated questions raised by the Judiciary?
Innovation is not just about going with the flow and accepting things as they are. It's about asking uncomfortable questions and challenging established assumptions. It's about questioning whether existing solutions are really the best and whether they can be improved.
It's about opening yourself up to different perspectives and approaches, and seeking diversity of ideas. It's about questioning whether we are truly listening to and valuing all voices, and whether we are giving space to #creativity .
Innovation, after all, is not just about technology or tangible products. It's about questioning how we do things and why we do them that way. It's about questioning whether our processes are efficient, whether our practices are sustainable and whether we are truly meeting the needs of our customers and our employees.
It's simple done with excellence in the search for better results.
That's what we believe!
