ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ADVOCACY

Last Friday, our partner Tiago Moraes Gonçalves was at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie to attend a lecture by Prof. JOSHUA WALKER, from Stanford University, who is the founder of System.Legal and author of the book "On Legal AI", whose Portuguese version was published in 2021 by Revista dos Tribunais.
The Prof. Walker treated the audience to a very interesting and very entertaining speech about #AI ( #ChatGPT ) and its impacts on people and the Law.
Just like us at LGCC, Prof. Walker believes that we are not in an apocalyptic scenario, where artificial intelligence will steal our jobs and our lives. New technologies are here, and we must reflect on our mission in relation to this position, and how to adapt to it.
Interestingly, last week's New Yorker Magazine featured a cover story that provoked this same reflection. The art by JooHee Yoon, who illustrates the cover, features a provocative drawing that translates very well the tension that exists in the field of arts between artists and these high-tech tools: the robot drawing the man, or vice versa?
